CKU...Where do I start?

I guess I will start with this gal, Ali Edwards. I just can't say how lucky I am to call her a friend. CKU is the one time a year Nik and I get to catch up with her and help her out in the process. I am constantly amazed at her talent and creativity and this year's album, Evolution was no exception. My most favorite part of the weekend is to go around to each table and chitty chat with the students, look at their pictures and see their interpretation of the album. We saw so many great pics, especially older, vintage ones. And as always, a tear or two is shed. Love that!
This is Paolo, Ali's friend from high school. Even though I felt like I knew him from Ali's blog, it was my first time meeting him in real life. I felt like he was a long lost friend. You know, the one you don't see often but every time you do you pick right back up from where you left off? He was supposed to be one of Ali's TA's but ended up being the official photographer for the weekend. He did such a great job with the commencement slide show. His pics were hilarious and I loved his perspective. And let me tell you, he has mad navigation skills. They came in handy at 12:30am on Wednesday night! Thanks Paolo.

This pic is for Stacey at All Moments Remembered. She loves Tim Holtz and didn't get the chance to meet him at CHA-W. Enjoy Stacey!

We also got the chance to meet some Studio Calico friends. This is Emily and Barb. They are crazy funny and made me laugh a lot.

This is Tonya who is just a total sweetheart. Wished she lived closer so we could get together more often. Wanna move to Ohio Tonya? For some reason, blogger won't let me post another pic I have of Stephanie, another SC friend. She and her mom were in Ali's track on Friday and they are dolls. Also in the track were Ann, Erin, Helen, Malika and Elizabeth all SC gals. I so enjoyed getting to meet everyone and hope I haven't left anyone out.
Gotta give a special hello to Annette, Whitney and Laura! Annette and Whitney were in Ali's class last year and remembered Nicole and I. Laura is a new friend who is an honorary employee at Windy City Scrapbooking. We all went out to dinner Saturday night and let me tell you, we had a blast. I never laughed so hard! I don't think Uncle Julio's Restaurant will ever be the same.
The only sad thing is that the weekend goes by so fast. It's back to reality for me this Monday morning!

Jenn- I wish I could go back and do the weekend again!! But this time Whit and I would have somehow squeezed in the Taurus with you, Ali, Paolo, Jessica and Nicole on Wednesday night. I think we should consider meeting in one location central to Chicago, Springfield and Ohio sometime within the next year just for the laughs-- and maybe scrapbooking, too.
